Wedding plans have commenced and you want to find a venue that’s really special. Enter Babington House, our Grade II-listed manor with 18 acres of English countryside, which you can take over exclusively to host a celebration that suits your tastes and needs.
At your home away from home, the big day can be adapted and personalised to your vision. Previously, members have requested Christmas light projections on the walls of the building and the Orangery turned into a Las Vegas-themed evening. Our handpicked directory of suppliers will help design your wedding, so that it’s unique and exactly what you want it to be.
Set yourself up in a suite, enjoy seasonal food made onsite and calm any pre-wedding nerves in our original Cowshed spa, which can be booked out for you and your party only. Rest assured, this is a space where you can relax and comfortably get ready, without having to leave the premises.
Over the years, Babington House has seen a wide and wonderful array of people marry here. Here is a potential itinerary for your dream country wedding – plus some special insights from couples who have previously tied the knot with us.

The day before
On arrival, check in to your bridal suite with rural views for a calm start to your experience.
Now that you’ve settled in, you’ll probably want some pre-wedding downtime with your loved ones. You can choose to have afternoon tea with your nearest and dearest, and book out the entire Cowshed spa. Here, you’ll be able to unwind with range of beauty treatments including manicures, pedicures, facials and more, ensuring you’re as fresh as possible for the following day.
‘The House itself has that old country house aesthetic, which is really special. But at the same time, you feel instantly relaxed and at home there from the moment you arrive. We loved taking over the whole place, so it felt like ours for a few days, filled with all of our closest friends and family.’

Your wedding morning
The big day is here and it’s all yours to enjoy. Have a leisurely breakfast in your suite, then get ready – the space is perfect for those pre-wedding photographs.
The entire House will be yours exclusively from 3pm on your wedding day. You will also have sole use of the Orangery, so that you can enjoy breakfast with your guests the following morning.
‘Babington House is such a magical place that’s made even more special by the incredible staff. The team went above and beyond on our special day.’

Your wedding ceremony
It goes without saying that one of the most memorable moments in your life must be exactly how you imagine. With this in mind, we have a selection of spaces where you can host your ceremony, with the choice of the Chapel, the Orangery, the Library or the croquet lawn. Each area has a unique, rustic English charm – ideal for pictures and making an entrance.
‘It’s just the most beautiful place – we knew we wanted to get married outside and under a flower arch, and we fell in love with the gardens and grounds at the House. It’s the perfect setting for a wedding.’

Post ceremony
Now the fun – and food – begins. You can expect a Champagne reception with canapes for your guests to enjoy while you have your photos taken. This can be followed by a seasonal dinner, all created with produce from our Walled Garden. Spend the rest of the evening in the Orangery, which features floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the grounds. We also have our own in-house florist who can provide you with expert advice to create the look you want.
‘The wedding was beyond magical and every bit was just incredible. And we had an amazing roaming band that came in after the speeches, which was a surprise, called The Juke Joints.’

Evening
Now it’s time to dance. And the beauty of being entirely surrounded by fields is that the celebrations can go on for as long as you wish.
‘After dinner, I changed into my party dress, while our guests helped themselves to personalised Espresso Martinis. Our band absolutely crushed the party and we all danced the night away.’
Lauren Crispin

End of the night
While the end of the night is just that for most, we all know there are some ‘fun friends’ who aren’t quite ready to quit yet. If you have a few in your wedding party, then we suggest you encourage them to book room six – you’ll know it as the one with the hot tub.
And for the newlyweds? They will be staying in the Playroom, with a large four-poster bed, freestanding bath, stocked bar and beautiful views of the grounds where they can enjoy some alone time.
‘It’s well worth putting your most fun-loving friends in room six (the one with the hot tub on the roof, which makes for the perfect afterparty).’

The morning after
Breakfast is included, so you can refuel with a hearty spread, some rejuvenating juices and much-needed coffee. If you’re up to it, head to the gym and spa for the sauna and steam room. Or, maybe you want to sweat off the night before with a workout. And, of course, you can revisit the Cowshed spa for a reinvigorating massage.
‘The House really does feel like a home away from home for us.’
Lauren Crispin
The day after
The big day may be over, but there’s still plenty for you and your guests to do at the House. Why not enjoy some clay-pigeon shooting, archery and outdoor tennis? If that all feels a little unmanageable, you can explore 18 acres of grounds or watch an old movie in our comfy screening room, which offers children’s films for the little ones, too.
‘I have been going [to Babington House] for as long as I can remember and have so many happy family memories there. It has a very special place in my heart.’
Tish Jones
