House Nights: Soho House Copenhagen’s pre-opening dinner
Our first outpost in Scandinavia is set to open its doors, and last night the Danish capital’s creative community gathered in celebration

Soho House Copenhagen will open its doors next month, and last night the new House Committee gathered for a special preview ‘hard hat dinner’, served by Cecconi’s. Over classic Northern Italian spaghetti with lobster and a round of Picantes, they discussed the intricacies of the local creative community and the role the House will play in it.
Located on the waterfront in the central Copenhagen area of Havnegade, the oval-shaped House is set across two floors. The building is the former Customs House and ferry terminal, which perfectly reflects the city’s special connection to seafaring. One of the key features is an outdoor terrace looking out over the water – we can’t wait for long summer evenings spent lounging here.
The colour palette was inspired by local artist paintings such as Lili Elbe, combined with the vibrant Nyhavn style of architecture. The look and feel of the space have been shaped by modern-day Danish design, art and visual culture – with locally-sourced and commissioned vintage and original furniture, as well as materials from local suppliers. There are a few more finishing touches to be made, but we can already feel the good times coming.
