It’s been another busy few weeks in and around the Houses, with members gathering to enjoy everything from a new theatre production in Baltimore and an evening of performance art in Delhi, to a special dinner tracing culinary legacies and diaspora in honour of Black History Month at our Soho House Toronto.

Global fashion weeks, film award season, and Lunar New Year celebrations to welcome in the Year of the Fire Horse meant there was lots more to celebrate, with dinners, dancing, and more. Plus, Soho House Nashville marked four years since opening with a New Orleans-themed party.

Lineage: food, memory and movement – conversation and dinner
Soho House Toronto

Members at our Toronto House came together for an evening of conversation and dinner in honour of Black History Month, led by chef Devan Cunningham, last year’s winner of the Food Network series Chopped. The night began in the Pretzel Bell Bar with four chefs sharing a small bite while exploring the ways in which dishes migrate, and how memory, necessity and environment shape what we eat today. This was followed by a family-style dinner hosted by Cunningham that traced culinary connections from Africa to the Caribbean to Canada and the American South, with courses provided by local chefs with diasporic roots: Marc Kusitor (Haiti), Rachel Adjei (Ghana), and Christina Khan (Trinidad and Tobago).
