Celebrating Soho House Tokyo’s first seven days

From DJ sets and saké tastings to a traditional dance performance and fashion Q&A, our newest club hosted a range of special opening events
Tuesday 14 April 2026 By Soho House
After the lead-up to opening, it’s been exciting to see Soho House Tokyo officially welcoming members through its doors over the past week or so. As with all our Houses, our aim is to create a home away from home for our members, so it was great to see them settle into the club space, enjoy our light-filled Wellness Studio, and make the most of the spring weather – and views – from the rooftop pool.
The House itself is just part of our offering, of course. Opening week also saw us continue as we’d started in the build-up to opening with a programme of events that ranged from DJ sets and tastings to the House’s very first In Conversation – with one of the most influential names in global fashion. Read on for more.

Tokyo Nights: Soundtrack Brothers
The series that had been popping up across our Houses globally in the months and weeks leading up to our latest opening finally made its way home. Created in partnership with Asahi Super Dry, Tokyo-based DJ collective Soundtrack Brothers (Sohei Tsurutani, Mao Yamazaki, and Katsumi Watanabe) set the scene with a DJ set showcasing music entirely drawn from film and TV scores. They were followed by Bib & Moe, whose reputation for feel-good vintage soul and house has seen them become regulars on independent radio station TSUBAKI fm. The duo’s vinyl-only session moved through soul, funk, and disco deep cuts from the 1970s and 1980s, sending the dance floor into overdrive – all paired with street-food bites and ice-cold Asahi Super Dry.

An Evening With… powered by Porsche
Our first official Saturday night brought a multi-event outing of our globally popular series An Evening With… to Soho House Tokyo for a celebration of Japanese artistry and creativity, powered by Porsche.
The night opened with a traditional dance and song performance by Asakusa Geisha, accompanied by music played on the shamisen, before switching things up with sets by local DJs, including Yuka Mizuhara. The Tokyo-based DJ, model and radio host, who’s known for her eclectic style, treated members and guests to a session that spanned house, disco, synth-pop, and Japanese city pop, which paved the way for our headline act, TOWA TEI. The acclaimed producer – and one-time member of early-1990s New York club band Deee-Lite – kept the crowd on their feet with a selection of cross-genre, dance-friendly tracks.

Alongside the music, members also enjoyed a saké tasting with one of Kyoto’s oldest saké breweries, Tsukino Katsura. There was also a late-night ramen pop-up by Menya Inoichi, whose refined take on the Japanese staple has ensured its restaurant – also in Kyoto – has become a must-visit.

In Conversation: Clare Waight Keller
With past roles that have seen her steering the artistic and creative vision of leading brands such as Chloé and Givenchy, Clare Waight Keller – now the global creative director of Uniqlo – is one of the most influential names in fashion. She joined us at Soho House Tokyo for the club’s first-ever In Conversation for a candid chat about her work, the industry as a whole, and why East Asian capitals, such as Tokyo and Seoul are where the fashion pack – and its followers – are now consistently turning to.
