The fourth anniversary of Soho House Mumbai

On 5 November, Soho House Mumbai celebrated its fourth anniversary with an eccentric Alice in Wonderland-themed tea party. Guests were encouraged to turn up in quirky hats and theatrical headwear to sip on Bombay Sapphire cocktails amid a specially-tailored decor created by milliner and designer Shilpa Chavan. The soundtrack was provided by House favourite, DJ Lynston, while Pooja Dhingra, a committee member and the founder of Le15 Patisserie, hosted a pop-up, complete with a special themed cake.

Cities Without Houses: Seoul Fashion Week dinner and afterparty

On 12 October, Seoul’s fashion and creative crowd gathered for a special Cities Without Houses event. A party celebrating Seoul Fashion Week SS23 was hosted by member and co-founder of Korean menswear brand IISE, Terrence Kim, with support from soju brand, Jinro. IISE presented their capsule collection, followed by a private dinner at MishMash, a hanok (traditional Korean house) turned restaurant overlooking the Changdeokgung Palace which offers a contemporary twist on Korean traditions. Guests sipped bespoke Jinro cocktails and continued on to the afterparty at WAOAK bar, with music by the city’s renowned selectors SiIN DOGG and MUSHXXX.

Soho Rising: FLO performance at Shoreditch House, supported by Bowers & Wilkins

Dubbed ‘the future of R&B’, FLO are definitely ones to watch. London-based trio Jorja Douglas, Stella Quaresma and Renée Downer drew attention from the likes of girl group veterans like Kelly Rowland and all three Sugababes when their debut single ‘Cardboard Box’ (currently sitting at over eight million plays on Spotify) went viral. ‘FLO are one of the hottest acts around at the moment, so this was a real moment for the House,’ said Dom Chung, Soho House Head of Music. ‘With a who’s who of the music industry in attendance, it was one busiest shows I’ve seen in the Library.’

Veuve Clicquot 250th anniversary: panel and champagne tasting at Holloway House

The venerable French Champagne house chose LA’s Holloway House as the place to mark their 250th year, with a two-night celebration that kicked off on Friday with marketing guru Meredith Fineman hosting a panel about ‘bragging power’. The phrase was eagerly discussed by guests Alana Hadid, Tylynn Burns, Lauren Lapkus, Siggi Bennett and June Diane Raphael, who agreed most people, let alone women, rarely consider it to be an integral part of one’s own personal success. The panel followed a sunset happy hour, with Veuve transforming the Rooftop into an inner-city oasis partnered by their iconic Yellow Label and Rosé Champagnes paired with light bites.

For the second event, on Sunday, biochemist and Veuve Clicquot winemaker Gaelle Goosens wowed members with an intimate conversation over an exclusive dinner to unveil La Grande Dame 2015. Our members were among the first in the world to try the newest vintage. Where else would you be able to say you met the person who made the Champagne you’re drinking, like it was just another Sunday?
