Inside Soho House Toronto’s new look

We’ve given the club a top-to-bottom refresh – plus, discover the new Martini bar, wellness programming, and menus

Since opening its doors back in the autumn of 2012, Soho House Toronto has become a hub for the city’s creative community. Our first House in Canada is set over three floors of a restored Georgian building dating back to the 1830s, and features a members-only restaurant and rooftop bar with views of downtown and the islands.
A haven for local and visiting members to socialise, work, eat and drink, we like to ensure our spaces feel as inviting as possible. That’s why over recent months, we’ve given the club a bit of a refresh. Think newly updated interiors across all floors and an expanded wellness programme. And did we mention a new Martini bar, now open on the third floor?
Read on to discover all the newness at Soho House Toronto.

The interiors
Our design team worked hard to give the House a full interiors refresh, including the seasonal rooftop and outdoor patio, where we’ve added a planted fence around the perimeter and new tables, chairs and umbrellas.
Honouring the building’s roots as a designated heritage property was essential for the design team, and this was achieved by celebrating the Georgian detailing and millwork throughout the space. In the reception area – which has been repainted a bold aubergine shade – the team added details like new table lamps on the desk, reupholstered furniture, and silk shade pendants hanging from the ceiling. In the first-floor club, sofas have been given a new lease of life with patterned upholstery and traditional trim details, complementing newly sourced vintage chairs and tables. Look up and you’ll spot glass chandeliers gently illuminating the space, too. The team also added depth and warmth by keeping the historic wall panelling throughout, layering it with a new olive silk wallcovering.

The food and drink
One of the most exciting new arrivals in the House is the third-floor Martini bar, open from 5pm on Wednesday through to Sunday. Named the Pretzel Bell Bar, here you can sip from a menu that includes four special Martinis. These include old classics, of course – Grey Goose Vodka or Hendrick’s Gin with vermouth and an olive – plus, some more experimental drinks, like a Martini made with peperoncino-infused gin and pepper brine.
If you’re not a Martini lover, there are plenty of other cocktails on offer. Highlights include the tropical Cocktail 2, made with Grey Goose Vodka, passion fruit, ginger syrup, hibiscus syrup, pineapple and lime, or Cocktail 4, with Tromba Reposado, Maguey Vida Mezcal, Cassis, chocolate bitters, and Angostura bitters.
The Pretzel Bell Bar will serve a unique food menu that you’ll only find in this part of the club: elevated burgers, traditional Caesar salads – complete with croissant croutons and anchovies – shrimp cocktails and caviar, are all designed to complement your tipple.

The event programming
There’s a renewed focus on Member Mixers throughout the House: regularly scheduled events that offer you the chance to meet your fellow members over a glass of wine (or two). We’ve also opened up a whole new range of wellness and fitness classes taking place at venues around the city. There’s Pilates at Queen Street’s Jaybird, open gym sessions at United Boxing Club, and spin classes at RIDE Cycle Club, as well as lots of one-off pop-ups. Keep an eye on the events page for updates.
