You’re a regular at Basel and a huge fan of Frieze, but have you been to EXPO? Top contemporary and modern artists flocked to Chicago last weekend for the city’s premiere art event. Of course, Soho House Chicago served as the cultural hub of the fair, supplementing official installations with parties, talks, and debuts alike.
Top highlights included a conversation on representation in fine art led by The Black Art Experience, alongside gallerists Storm Ascher and Cierra Britton, and artist Ashanté Kindle. There was also a members’ field trip to Theaster Gates’s space, Stony Island Arts Bank, to celebrate Jewel Ham’s show I Said What I Said, created in partnership with Anthony Gallery and the Rebuild Foundation.
And the blowout of the whole weekend? A House party hosted by The OG Magazine. The sixth edition highlighted many Chicago leaders, including Easy Otabor, Notre, Tony Karmen, and Soho House’s own Content Director, Alicia Gutierrez.
