Inside the opening party for Soho House Portland

Soho House Portland opened its doors for the first time this month, with members and guests gathering in the City of Roses to mark the occasion. Located in the Troy Laundry Building in Central Eastside, the House features a two-floor gym and two restaurants, with a rooftop pool overlooking the city coming soon. 

Guests were greeted at reception with a one-of-a-kind red rose installation, created by local floral artist Manu Torres and powered by Porsche, alongside a custom photo booth to capture memories from the night. There was also a pop-up tattoo parlour, with artists offering Portland-inspired flash tattoos that included imagery of the city’s iconic bridges, roses, and mushrooms.

Inside the party, local chefs Jewan Manuel of Plant Based Papi, and Greg and Gabi Denton of Ox Restaurant created canapes, while our Executive Chef Matt Sigler served House favourites that included wood-fired pizzas and Dirty Burgers at midnight. For something sweet, Nico’s Ice Cream treated guests to its unique blend of real fruit with vanilla ice cream. Plus, there was a shucking station with more than 1,000 Pacific Northwest oysters served throughout the night. 

Everyone sipped on local Willamette Valley wine and Espresso Martinis by the House’s coffee partner, Upper Left Roasters, as they enjoyed a performance by Grammy award-winning musician Mýa, followed by DJ sets from Talib Kweli and Sounds By Dontā.
