Salvation! We’ve finally shaken off the winter blues. The clocks have gone back, and with the arrival of warmer, sunnier days (remember those?), our minds have turned to one thing and one thing only: a spring getaway.
There is much to be said for travelling at this time of year – after all, the beaches are less busy, the airport queues are usually shorter, and you won’t have to elbow your way to the front of the taxi queue.
To help you find the perfect last-minute break, we’ve scoured our Houses around the world to bring you the best places to relax, party or soak up a bit of local culture. From the beaches of Mumbai to the rolling countryside of Oxfordshire in the UK, we’ve got you covered.
Soho House Barcelona
Best for food lovers
Barcelona is that rare animal – a pumping, fully stocked city that also happens to have one of the longest and most relaxing beaches anywhere in Spain. To say it is a favourite of ours is an understatement, especially when you have Soho House Barcelona as your base. We particularly like the House Kitchen here, which offers a toothsome selection of tapas – from plant-based pa amb tomàquet to fried artichokes served with a citrus aioli. Make sure you get to the rooftop pool to save yourself a spot for sunset – it offers wide views of the skyline and is never anything but buzzy.

Soho Beach House Miami
Best for sun seekers
Soho Beach House reclines on the sands of Miami beach like a film star topping up their tan. It’s a heavenly spot. The long, thin pool, surrounded by palm trees and blue and white day beds, draws people in from morning to night. And why not? The weather never fails you in Miami. Head to Ocho on the roof of this Art Deco gem and watch the sun make its sinking progress into the sea with a mezcal cocktail in hand and Al Pastor tacos on the table in front of you. Now, that is true relaxation.

Soho House Berlin
Best for club kids
Occupying the top eight floors of a Bauhaus building in Mitte, Soho House Berlin is quite the des res. It’s a five-minute walk from Alexanderplatz and 10 minutes from Museum Island – and when night comes, a mere hop in a taxi from Berghain. That is, of course, if you ever actually leave the building, because our Berlin House is like its own little self-contained world. It has 65 bedrooms, 20 apartments, a spa, fitness centre, screening room, and even a library. Oh, and did we mention The Store X? The coolest shop in the city, which sells everything from vinyls to clothing by the city’s coolest designers. You won’t need to worry about what to wear for dinner, then.

Soho House Amsterdam
Best for city sophisticates
Located on the Spuistraat, this grand 1930s Bungehuis building used to be a university. Today, though, it’s less concerned with maths and medicine and more concerned with giving people a really good time.
Enjoy a movie in the screening room or settle down with a whisky on the rocks in the club and lose an hour exploring the works by emerging Dutch artists that clothe the walls. If you can bear to leave your table at Cecconi’s or the rooftop pool, you’ll find that the House is a mere three-minute walk from the Royal Palace and all its many assorted treasures.

Soho Farmhouse, UK
Best for country escapes
Short on cattle and sheep it may be, but one thing Soho Farmhouse definitely has in abundance is vibes. It’s a hedonist’s dream: all manicured lawns, vast heated pools and cocktails delivered to your door by ‘farmhands’ on vintage milk floats. Start the day with a relaxing ride around the grounds on one of the many Foffa bikes, maybe do a bit of yoga even, before settling down to the important business of deep self-indulgence in the Main Barn, which serves all the Soho House favourites. Or at Pen Yen, the Japanese restaurant that makes an artwork out of black cod. Sated, happy, and a little tipsy, you can wander back to the zeppelin-sized beds in one of our new farm or field view Huts. Bliss.

Soho House Nashville
Best for music fans
Nashville is the beating heart of country music in the US. And our latest House, located in a former sock factory in Wedgewood-Houston, certainly has music coursing through its veins. There are live shows in the Sock Room and surprise gigs in the secret garden performance area. All 47 bedrooms are inspired by the heritage of the city, and each room is decorated with handmade ceramic lampshades and furniture from local designers. So, settle down, grab a beer, and take in the show.

Soho House Mumbai
Best for culture vultures
The 38-bedroom, 11-storey townhouse that forms Soho House Mumbai looks westerly across the Arabian Sea and sands of Juhu Beach. To the east lies Mumbai, full of noise and clamour, and vivid colours. The House is an oasis of calm in a city that seldom sleeps. Head straight to the green-walled, light-filled club to enjoy everything from kathi rolls and dosas for breakfast, and makhanis and biryani later in the day. And then spend the rest of your time attending the free programme of in-house lectures and specialist yoga classes. It’ll improve your mind and your body.

Best for rest and relaxation
Our House in the sleepy fishing village of Garraf reopens its doors this week. Far from the crowds of Barcelona, it’s a quiet refuge from the white noise of city life. You’ll want for nothing being right by the sea, and the House offers painting workshops, horse riding lessons, yoga sessions and gong bath events. For a bit of pampering, pop into the Cowshed By The Sea spa for one of its signature massages. If we could choose any place to hunker down, this would be it. You’re welcome.
