Bringing members together at Soho Connects Asia

Marking six years of Soho House Hong Kong, members from across the continent joined us for a weekend of food, music, and culture
Tuesday 23 September 2025 By Soho House
It was the first time the event took place at our Hong Kong outpost. Running from Friday 19 to Sunday 21 September, it delivered a weekend chock-a-block with dinners, talks, parties, and live performances - these are the highlights from across the weekend.

Friday 19 September
Member Mixer in partnership with A08
More than 70 members from across our Asian Cities Without Houses communities gathered on the 30th floor for drinks and conversation, while also enjoying styling sessions from the experts at A08.
One Night Only: MMKitchen x Flakes & Layers by Amanda S
Members joined us in the Pool Room for a five-course dinner prepared by private chef Marissa Lau of MMKitchen, whose signature dishes included Carbineros with Wide Flat Noodles in Lotus Leaf. She teamed up with model-turned-chef Amanda Strang, who took charge of desserts. Each course was accompanied by a specialist wine pairing to allow diners to truly savour each dish.
House Party with Rocky Lee
This late-night session set the tone for the weekend, as members let their hair down and took to the dancefloor to party with tunes supplied by DJ Rocky Lee.

Breakfast Panel: Architecture for breakfast – designing the future
Simon Yu, director of Zaha Hadid Architects’ Hong Kong, kickstarted the day with a talk themed around Urbanism for the Future. He used Chinese case studies to explore the convergence of cutting-edge technology and human-centred design.
Panel 1: Art ecosystem now – mapping synergies across the cultural sphere
Panellists including Claudia Chan (Art Basel Hong Kong), Candice Gu (Yuz Museum, Shanghai), Minju Kweon (Frieze Asia) and Laura Shao (David Zwirner Gallery) explored cross-border curation and the intersection of global partnerships with Hong Kong and Mainland China’s art market.
Panel 2: From shadows to spotlight – a journey of LGBTQ+ celebration
Screenwriter and film director Ray Yeung was joined by Jay Sun (Macao International Queer Film Festival) and Teresa Kwong (Hong Kong Lesbian and Gay Film Festival) for a thoughtful discussion of how queer cinema and festivals have evolved in Hong Kong and Macao.

The evolution and impact of AI continues to be one of the creative industry’s biggest talking points. For this session, panellists Deeps De Silva of AI KATANA, 10CUBE founder-architectf Sanny Ng, creative director Henry Chu of pill & pillow, and Maxim’s Group’s David Leung took a deep dive into the subject.
Panel 4: Transforming culture – the future of Asian heritage and design
A discussion exploring design’s civic role and cultural impact in Asian cities saw panellists discuss heritage-led practices – including Korea’s hanok restoration – and the lessons to be learnt from landmark Hong Kong projects such as Tai Kwun. Speakers included Seoul-based designer Teo Yang, branding expert Marc Cansier, of Marc & Chantal, and the Design Trust’s Marisa Yiu.
Panel 5: A cocktail chat with al.dente.life
Food influencer Henry Hsieh was joined by Bar Leone’s Justin Shun Wah and Tommy Wong of CMYK for a serious – but not so serious – chat about cocktails, the drinks scene in Hong Kong and China, and what it takes to level-up the playing field when it comes to running a buzzy bar.

Dim Sum Drink Sum x House of Orient
Dinner was served courtesy of a one-night-only edition of Dim Sum Drink Sum in partnership with House of Orient. The menu featured classic dim sum techniques and seasonal produce, and was paired with a curated drinks list by Tommy Wong (co-founder of CMYK, Changsha).
Soho Presents: Onra
Supported by Bacardí, we hosted a special Soho Connects version of Soho Presents, welcoming Paris-based producer Onra into the House for an intimate set filled with his signature beats-driven storytelling.
Soho Presents: House Party with Yeti Out
We saw Saturday out with a first-floor takeover by music collective Yeti Out, who brought us a high-energy, genre-blurring party that was built for the dance floor. Members enjoyed live sets and back-to-back blends that channelled the group’s cross-cultural roots.
Sunday 21 September
Flagrant hot sauce Seafood Palace
Sunday was all about a long, leisurely brunch that ran from midday to 8pm. Members gathered by the pool to enjoy a pop-up from Flagrant Harbour, whose seafood-led menu – co-created by Matt Abergel (Yardbird) and Soho House Executive Chef Krzysztof Czerwinski – packed a punch.
