Installation by Ann Agee
For International Women’s Day, we are proud to present an installation in the lobby by the pioneering ceramicist Ann Agee. This presentation of two sculptures and one wall-based work showcases her ongoing and widely celebrated series ‘Madonnas of the Girl Child’.
Agee’s Madonnas subvert the male child’s centuries-long omnipresence in the cultural imagination, instead introducing viewers to a world in which the revered child is female. The resulting works therefore re-envision the divine Madonna and Child in the form of mothers holding, cradling, and breastfeeding their infant daughters.

Workshop with Julia Rothman
Join Julia Rothman for ‘The Exquisite Woman’, a game inspired by the Surrealists’ exquisite corpse. This workshop is a playful exploration of collaboration: working together, it involves folding paper into three sections and taking turns drawing the head, torso or legs – without seeing what the previous person sketched.
The result? A series of unexpected and surreal exquisite women. At the end, everyone can choose and take home their favourite creations.
