Soho House Hong Kong is now open

Take a peek at what’s inside your new House, from the movie-inspired textiles, the swim-up pool bar and infamous disco ball

The first Soho House in East Asia is now open in Hong Kong’s historic Sheung Wan neighbourhood, occupying a 28-storey tower with panoramic views of the surrounding cityscape, including Victoria Harbour and The Peak. Soho House Hong Kong has a Pool Room, nine floors of Soho Works, club lounges, a gym, a screening room and various event spaces.

A space apart

Designed by our Soho House design team, the interior spaces incorporate subtle nods to Hong Kong’s traditional culture and the films of local auteur Wong Kar-wai. Rich, jewel tones can be found throughout the furnishings. In the main members’ bar and club space, lantern light pendants hang from a hand-embossed, basket-weave ceiling, while in the Drawing Room on the 27th floor, jade green and burnt orange textiles sit against the panelled leather bar front.

All the rooms have been arranged by local feng shui designer Thierry Chow to ensure perfect harmony. The team paid tribute to the city’s history throughout the House, right down to the calligraphy used for the signs.

Works of art

Over 100 artworks have been curated by our head of collections, Kate Bryan, to exclusively feature local artists, such as Fan Ho, Kwok Mang Ho (Frog King) and Tsang Kin-Wah, and are displayed throughout the House in a celebration of Hong Kong’s visual identity.

Meet the neighbourhood

The location puts the House within easy reach of many of the city’s creative and culinary hotspots. In the vicinity are family-run dried seafood shops and street markets, as well as a vibrant mix of cafes, galleries and bars (which you can read more about here.)

House happenings

House members can participate in an eclectic events programme, which touches upon a wide range of interests, including music, film, fashion, art, design and wellness. The events are designed to bring like-minded individuals together to foster a community that celebrates local creative culture.

Soho Active

Inside the House, you’ll find the Soho Active gym, which offers exercise and yoga classes, and includes a steam room and sauna. From the main cardio space with state-of-the-art Technogym and BeaverFit equipment and a boxing ring on the 12th floor, to the yoga studio and dedicated HIIT area on the 15th floor, members have an array of fitness options to choose from.

Soho Works

Early next year, we’ll also open Soho Works, a workspace designed to cater to the needs of creative professionals, as well as the House Studio, an exhibition and studio space that will feature local art and design.

Food and drink

As with other locations worldwide, the House will introduce Soho House favourites, such as brick chicken and the Dirty Burger to Hong Kong. Members can enjoy these dishes at the House Brasserie, alongside a locally inspired menu of siu mei, dim sum and Peking duck. The Drawing Room offers all-day dining and afternoon tea, while members can head to the Sitting Room for wine and cocktails.
