Inside Erykah Badu’s Shoreditch House takeover

On Saturday, Shoreditch House hosted one of those parties that turn into FOMO-fuelled urban legends. Celebrating Bonfire Night in style, the Godmother of Soul, Erykah Badu (aka DJ Lo Down Loretta Brown) played a two-hour DJ set on the rooftop of our east London outpost. Mixing classic hip-hop, R&B and soul, the set was made extra special by her vocals throughout – much to the delight of a packed-out front deck, including the likes of Naomi Campbell, Dave Chappelle and André 3000, who were spotted among the guests.
