This week marks NFT NYC, the fourth annual NFT industry gathering of ideas, events, and professionals in the industry. Here, Jenni Thompson and Vanessa Magos, two entertainment executives at the forefront of bringing culture into Web3 who are particularly passionate about onboarding women into the space, share their picks for NFT NYC.
NFT.NYC private showing of Sleep No More
Sleep No More is an immersive theatre experience – primarily based on William Shakespeare’s Macbeth. On Wednesday night, a group of Web3 heavy hitters including Red Beard Ventures, Metaversal, RUNNER, 11 Captain’s Club from E11EVEN, Royal Society of Players, and STRV are hosting a private showing. The co-producer of Hunger Games, Birds Of Prey and Bright have a comic-based NFT project that just launched this week called Omega RUNNER. Those who buy the comic have access to an exclusive Sleep No More experience.

World of Women
WoW is a collection of 10,000 unique, powerful and diverse female PFPs owned by celebrities such as Reese Witherspoon and SIA. WoW aims to balance representation in the NFT space while at the same time pushing it forward and supporting female-led causes. On Thursday night you won’t want to miss this Pride x WoW event, specifically the performance from Madonna.

On Wednesday at Public Records, flow with a guided meditation from ambient experimentalist Raays and Emily Kessler, alongside music performances from New Jersey-based singer-songwriter, Alara, and New Jersey-raised hip-hop artist and Sundance winner, Topaz Jones. The mindfulness session and live music is followed by brunch.

The Sandbox Summit
The Sandbox is a virtual world where players can build, own and monetise their gaming experiences and assets. It will host a series of engaging conversations featuring Warner Music Group and partners of The Sandbox, including FaZe Clan, Steve Aoki, Cordell Broadus, mau5trap, CyberKongz, Nick Adler, Lionsgate, FTX, World of Women, and more.
