Behind the scenes at HexClad’s decadent dinner series
The upstart cookware brand invited chefs to prepare tasting menus for members in New York and Austin

As part of Soho House’s Secret Sauce dining series, cookware brand HexClad hosted dinners in Brooklyn, Manhattan and Austin where guest chefs prepared a variety of meals for members using its innovative hybrid pans. The series began at DUMBO House, where chef Lala Ziemski created an end-of-summer feast with a focus on seafood.
Crab dip, mussels and clams, and seared scallops were the precursor to a lobster dinner, served directly on the HexClad 14in hybrid pan – perfect for serving family style. The series then moved to Texas, where chef and long-time Austin resident Daniel Gaspar created a Spanish-focused menu at Soho House Austin. He brought out the flavour of signature Spanish dishes starting with a tapas menu of garlic prawns, croquettes with Iberico ham, and gazpacho.
Family-style mains included octopus cooked with Spanish paprika, yucca ‘brazas’ and pinto, served on HexClad’s rustic Bistecca plates. This was followed by braised short rib, which gave guests the opportunity to try out HexClad’s Japanese Damascus steel steak knives, before concluding the dinner with Basque cheesecake and churros with ganache, saffron ice cream, and orange. For the grand finale, HexClad returned to New York, this time bringing chefs Sommer Sellers and Sakari Smithwick to Soho House New York's Vinyl Room. The series ended with a rich Southern-infused meal, where the jerk-spiced seared steak—served over vegetables on HexClad’s robust carving boards—stole the show and perfectly capped off a decadent dinner series.
