There’s no shortage of brilliance in Ridley Scott’s high-fashion drama, House Of Gucci. Adapted from the non-fiction book by Sara Gay Forden, the film charts a crowd-pleasing course from the glitzy Milanese party scene of the 1970s to a high-profile murder trial in which Patrizia Reggiani (Lady Gaga) is accused of murdering her ex-husband, Maurizio Gucci (Adam Driver).
It’s a movie that’s full of drama, scandal and comedy, and features a stellar cast that helps take it from camp fashion homage to serious awards season contender. Among them is Jared Leto, who plays the part of Paolo Gucci, an Italian businessman and one-time chief designer and vice-president of the house. The actor is practically unrecognisable, though, thanks to the handiwork of Oscar®-nominated prosthetics artist, Göran Lundström.
Here, Leto talks to Riley about transforming into the role and playing one of the movie’s larger than life characters.
