Five Ganni-approved creative talents to watch in Copenhagen

Ganni has long been a byword for Scandi cool – just ask the brand’s army of cult followers, otherwise known as #GanniGirls. Founded by husband and wife duo Nicolaj and Ditte Reffstrup, the Copenhagen-born label became renowned for spearheading the sustainable fashion revolution, while introducing the world to a more playful take on Scandinavian aesthetics. 

Building a community rather than just a brand, the Reffstrups have always seen the value in making space for new generations to continue the legacy of Danish fashion and culture, championing other local creatives, from designers to DJs. Most recently, Nicolaj – who stepped down as CEO in 2018 to focus on responsibility within the company – joined the Soho Mentorship programme, signing up to mentor young fashion designer Nana-Adwoa Osei. But she’s not the only emerging talent he’s backing.

Here, the entrepreneur selects five other Danish creatives to keep your eye on – from the founders of skincare brand AASAI to a Ganni PR-turned-artist.

‘Laura used to work on the Ganni communications and PR team. She went on to study art and is such a talented weaver whose expression is totally her own. It’s full of intricate details and patterns, and I love how colourful her work is.’
