Inside Soho House Hong Kong’s Art Week afterparties

Last week, the city played host to Art Basel Hong Kong 2023. Here’s how we celebrated at the House

Last week at Soho House Hong Kong, we celebrated Art Week with a series of afterparties co-hosted by White Cube, Woaw Gallery, Sow & Tailor, and Yeti Out, with musical performances by the likes of Moses Boyd, Shade Seoul, Alex Turnbull, and more.

White Cube Art Basel afterparty
From London to Hong Kong, White Cube – one of the world’s leading galleries – held its Art Basel afterparty at the House, following the opening of Brooklyn-based artist Tunji Adeniyi-Jones’s showcase. Members and guests were served House favourites, like dim sum and Peking duck, accompanied by cocktails inspired by colours found in Adeniyi-Jones’s work.
British jazz multi-instrumentalist Moses Boyd performed live at the House, followed by DJ sets from Arthur Bray, Fergus and Jerry Ha.

Art Week House Party: Alex Baby (CDA) x Yeti Crew ‘Sound Clash’
The House hosted street-culture legend, Alex Turnbull, a founding member of the International Stüssy Tribe. And the evening was curated by member Arthur Bray and his music collective, Yeti Out.


Art Week Sound Sessions: DJ Vakki
South Korean artist, Vakki, who explores various media including graphic design, video and interactive media, joined our Art Week music line-up to host a special night showcasing her tribal house and nu-disco beats.

HORIZONS afterparty hosted by Woaw Gallery for Sow & Tailor
Creative multi-hyphenate and Woaw Gallery founder, Kevin Poon, hosted and headlined our Friday afterparty featuring LA art curators Greg Ito and Karen Galloway (Sow & Tailor), supported by Stranger & Sons Gin.


Art Week House Party: Shade Seoul x Yeti Crew ‘No Boarders’
The Yeti crew took over the Pool Room alongside LGBTQIA+ collective Shade Seoul, with a surprise performance by FLOWERBOMB.
Shade Seoul is a collective of DJs, promoters and creatives dedicated to bringing together the spirit of the underground music scene and LGBTQIA+ culture through unforgettable parties and events. Its core mission is to contribute to the creation of inclusive spaces, home to creative self-expression and all underground music lovers around the world.
