Inside our International Women’s Day celebrations

We marked the occasion with art takeovers, live musical performances and special one-off dinners, all while paying homage to pioneering women across the world
Tuesday 11 March 2025 By Chloe Lawrance
Saturday 8 March marked International Women’s Day – and throughout our Houses around the world we celebrated the important occasion with our members. We wanted to recognise just some of the innovative women working in the art, food, music and design industries through events programming that included our annual House takeovers, powered by Porsche, as well as one-off workshops, film screenings, performances, and dinners.
Art takeover, powered by Porsche
Ludlow House
In New York, Soho House Chief Art Director Kate Bryan curated a programme of art events at Ludlow House, powered by Porsche. Guests enjoyed artist Ann Agee’s installation in the lobby and browsed artist zines at the Olympia Gallery pop-up bookshop, before joining together for a Member Mixer.
Later in the day, we hosted a panel with former co-chief art critic at The New York Times, Roberta Smith; the director of The Armory Show, Kyla McMillan; and the US senior director of White Cube, Courtney Willis Blair. Tarot card readings and drawing workshops also took place throughout the House, alongside art talks from the likes of Laurie Simmons and Rujeko Hockley. The day finished with a special One Night Only dinner prepared by chef Hillary Sterling and a performance by musician St. Vincent.

White City House
Our International Women’s Day celebrations, powered by Porsche, made their return to White City House for a third year on Saturday 8 March. The morning began with a panel featuring Eliza Hatch, Sharmadean Reid and Tori West, who explored this year’s theme, Accelerate Action. Throughout the day, we hosted additional talks in Studio 8, highlighting the achievements and contributions of women leaders across film, TV, music, and beauty. Members also took part in creative workshops that included making floral bouquets, as well as masterclasses in gua sha, photography, life drawing, and collaging.
In the evening, members enjoyed a four-course supper curated by Sally Abé, Mandy Yin, Candice Brown and Judy Joo, with cocktails from Woodford Reserve Bourbon Whiskey. Following the dinner, we hosted a special live performance by Shaznay Lewis, with the night finishing on the rooftop with sets from our resident DJs.
