Cities Without Houses: Sherri McMullen, Fredrika Newton and Jameel Mohammed in conversation in Oakland

Fashion and activism were on the agenda as Sherri McMullen of Oakland’s McMullen Boutique was joined in conversation with Khiry designer Jameel Mohammed and Fredrika Newton, wife of the late African-American revolutionary Huey P Newton, who was a founder of the Black Panther Party. The morning event – to highlight the Black Panther Party’s free breakfast programme – saw the trio discuss the rich history of the Black Panther Party, its impact, and the role fashion played in the movement.

Secret Sounds: Netta Barzilai in Tel Aviv

Soho House Tel Aviv welcomed Netta Barzilai for a one-time jam show in partnership with Patrón. The surprise performance featured an energetic live set that showcased Barzilai’s newest sounds and vision, incredible vocal talent – and endless looper control – all accompanied by her new band (or ‘top wishlist supergroup’ as she called it). Alongside all that, lucky guests enjoyed a special cocktail menu, exclusively curated by Patrón.

Soho Rising: Flohio at Soho House Amsterdam

This latest edition of Soho Rising – which is supported by Bowers & Wilkins – saw Nigerian-born British rapper Flohio take over Amsterdam’s Canal Room for a set that showcased her signature beats, expansive themes, genre fluidity and periodic double-time flows. Flohio’s hardcore fans dominated the front row for the entirety of an electric, supersonic set, while local DJ Apuke ensured the packed-out space continued to buzz – both before and after the show.

A festive lunch at Cecconi’s Bicester Village

Our North Italian restaurant Cecconi’s threw open the doors of its new space in Bicester Village this week. The celebratory festive lunch saw guests including The Flag Twins, Laura Whitmore and Eric Underwood dine on Spaghetti Lobster and clink glasses of champagne before (we can only assume) heading off to max out their credit cards on a Village shopping spree.
