Last night, actor and producer Daniel Kaluuya celebrated the LA premiere of his new film Honk For Jesus. Save Your Soul. Written and directed by Adamma Ebo, who adapted her own short film of the same name into a feature length, the satire revolves around a couple who have to reopen a megachurch following a scandal.
Kaluuya produced the film with the lead stars Regina Hall and Sterling K. Brown, as well as his frequent collaborator, Jordan Peele. It first premiered at Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, where it was met with positive reviews, and makes its debut in cinemas and on Peacock on 2 September.
Following the premiere at the Regal LA Live theatre, Kaluuya and friends celebrated on the rooftop at Soho Warehouse in Downtown LA. He was joined by his Nope co-star Brandon Perea, along with actors Damson Idris and Tracie Thoms. And DJ Jae Murphy and DJ R-Tistic provided the sounds to match the buoyant energy from the premiere. The party was the latest in The Move, an ongoing event series that brings together creatives to celebrate titles that are at the cultural zeitgeist.
