To herald the arrival of the new summertime rates for members at Soho Beach House, we’ve commissioned two short films.

For the first film, we worked with an incredible historical archive of footage shot in Miami from the ‘40s to the ‘60s. House magazine’s Creative Director Mark Jubber spliced together old footage with new to create a film that pays tribute to the Miami Beach of times gone by and celebrates of the city as it exists today.

For the second film, creative agency INT Works were tasked with realising creative director Dan Flower’s vision for an animated character being magically transported from a humdrum daily existence to a tropical Miami paradise. ‘As I learned fairly quickly, animation is a little more work then real life filming’ acknowledges Flower. ‘But INT Works were a joy to work with and got the whole idea immediately.’

Tom Ramsbottom, Project Manager at INT Works, elaborates: ‘We wanted to simply communicate that at Soho Beach House this summer you can get the amazing Miami lifestyle at a reduced rate, and that the transition from your local House couldn’t be simpler.

In our first meeting Dan referenced Bod, a vintage cartoon character which formed the initial inspiration in terms of tone. From this we developed a storyboard and asked our friends Animade to execute the animation as their illustrative style seemed to fit our concept perfectly."
