Soho House Pop Up At Frieze New York
Last week saw the inaugural Frieze New York hitting town, and Soho House joined the art fair at Randall’s Island to stage a pop-up House. Ably supported by our friends at Bombay Sapphire, our temporary House and Cecconi’s kept members and guests fuelled, watered and refreshed as they took in 180 of the most exciting contemporary art galleries from around the world. House Seven’s photographers and film crew were down there to capture the first US Frieze for posterity…

Little House Mayfair Opens Its Doors
A short walk from Soho House and Dean Street Townhouse, Little House Mayfair is the first of what we hope will be a number of sibling clubs to the Soho Houses in various locations. Envisioned as a slightly more grown up concept, ‘Little Houses’ will partner with an existing Soho House (or Houses) in a city to provide an additional private, sophisticated haven for our Members.
The focus in Mayfair will be on a reduced and refined selection of drinking and dining choices, with less emphasis on events and facilities. The signature “little menu” draws inspiration from New York and Italy with a small, seasonal menu on offer. Little House also features an art collection of international talent including Jenny Holzer and Taryn Simon, curated by Jonny Yeo and Francesca Gavin.
The club features exposed brick walls and a salon bar, creating a warm intimate atmosphere where members can eat, drink, and socialise. There is a feeling of faded glamour running through the house, with a mixture of new and vintage furniture alongside deep dining booths and fireside sofas.
Soho House launches the Kibera Project
The start of October saw the launch of the Kibera Project at Mount Street Galleries. Sponsored by the Soho House Group, the project was established to raise funds for a creative department at St John’s School in Kibera, Kenya – the location of Africa’s largest slum.
In 2010, four artists – including the renowned painter James Hart Dyke – travelled to Kibera to produce work inspired by the slum. The result of that trip was an selection of vibrant and moving artworks, which were exhibited in the gallery from October 4th-10th.
The prints and artwork from the exhibition are now available for sale at www.lifeinkibera.org with all proceeds going directly to this very worthy cause.

It's Nice That
This week’s It’s Nice That picks are are a pretty diverse bunch, a sign of how many talented (and in one case maybe bored) people there are out there, ready to create and ready to share the fruits of their labour.
It's Nice That
From It’s Nice That this week we present Rebecca Wilson, an alternative ceramicist, Jon Ham a new-classic editorial illustrator, and Carl Burgess’ latest filmic offering of dramatic overtures of “normal” people…
Jon Han
Jon Han (http://jon-han.com/) counts the New Yorker as a client. So too the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, and Business Week have come calling for his services. And it’s no wonder! Han’s work, all of it, is the highly sought-after combination of insane natural ability and editorial nous. Those institutions listed above know it, and now so too do the rest of us.
